Josh and Renee's Wedding at The Cove Jervis Bay

There’s no denying that The Cove Jervis Bay is the best waterfront venue on the south coast, it is the ideal property for a private getaway with all of your friends and family to celebrate your wedding. Josh and Renee booked the entire resort for their special day which was held last month.

The Hartwig wedding provides great inspiration for many soon-to-be-married couples looking for ideas for their seaside celebration. The entrance to The Cove through Booderee National Park really sets the scene for a magical stay with it’s lush greenery.

Josh and Renee tied the knot overlooking the ocean and their own private beach, the water was crystal clear and the skies were bright blue overhead. The couple was framed by a stunning arbour which had been beautifully decorated in florals which matched the girls bouquets. Josh and Renee exchanged heartfelt vows before sharing a romantic first kiss. The two made their way back down the aisle where Josh dipped his bride for another kiss and their guests cheered them on.

The pair wanted their wedding to feel like one big party, and they achieved exactly that. Guests were invited to join a cocktail hour immediately following the nuptuals as the bridal party hit the beach for some portraits as the sun began to set. The couple made one hell of an entrance into the reception by performing a duet. The entertainment didn’t stop there, they also performed a choreographed dance beneath the starts later in the evening. Congratulations to Josh and Renee on your marriage and thank you for sharing the fun with me!

Andrew and Maddie's Engagement Session

Do you know what I love? Exploring the south coast with people who want their photo captured in beautiful locations. Andrew and Maddie traveled to Ben’s Walk on the Shoalhaven River for their engagement session. Engagement shoots are a great chance to get in front of the camera to celebrate the proposal without all the pressure of the big day. We had a lovely time exploring the bush track and we were lucky to have lots of privacy for the two to get some nice intimate shots. Congratulations guys on your engagement and see you at the wedding!

The King Family

I had a great afternoon catching up with the King family by the Shoalhaven River to udpate their family photos. We utilised the public boat ramp that overlooks the Nowra Bridge to take the majority of our pictures.

Thank you to Grace and her wonderful family who entrusted me to capture some beautiful memories on the south coast.

The Smith Family

I recently caught up with Cohen and Anna to capture some precious family moments at their home in Woodburn, NSW. I love taking portraits where people feel most comfortable so in the backyard was the perfect place for lots of natural candid moments. I once called the Smiths the happiest newlyweds, well after a couple of years the title has changed to the happiest family.

Sussex Inlet Family Session

I recently had the pleasure of photographing some newborn photos for Carly in Sussex Inlet as she has just welcomed little Brax into the world. She wanted her family photos taken outdoors so her older children could play and explore during the session. We had beautiful afternoon lighting and the whole place to ourselves. I was so pleased for them that they had beautiful weather and that we were able to capture lots of smiles and kids enjoying themselves.

Matt and Amanda's Como Wedding

Matt and Amanda shared a vision for their wedding; a chic celebration where the couple could relax and have fun. They dedicated their time to finding a cool venue that oozed character, and so they chose to celebrate their marriage at the Como Hotel. The ultimate goal was to create a unique atmosphere, surrounded exclusively by their closest family and closest friends, who held a special place in their hearts.

The couple exchanged their vows in the breathtaking Como Pleasure Grounds, a beautiful bush park set on a scenic point of the Georges River. After their heartfelt ceremony, they proceeded to their reception venue for a sophisticated evening. The couple made an energetic entrance into the space where all attention was focused on the newlyweds. The night was full of good food and great company. This gorgeous celebration will inspire you if you are looking at unique venues for your big day.

Lachlan and Lauren's Gerringong Wedding

When Lachlan and Lauren decided to elope they knew that they wanted to tie the knot by the ocean, and where more beautiful than Gerrringong, NSW? With a love for the stunning coastline it made perfect sense to say “I do” with the beach as the backdrop.

For Lachlan and Lauren, getting married was an intimate celebration that they wanted to share with only their closest friends and family. They exchanged heartfelt vows and made promises of their future life together, that would soon include their baby.

The breathtaking surroundings served as the perfect canvas for capturing portraits of the newlyweds following the ceremony.

Their special day was everything they wished for and more, and I am so glad I got to capture these memories to be enjoyed for years to come.

John and Rebecca's Mali Brae Farm Wedding

John and Rebecca’s winter wedding started with a clear vision—a picturesque farm property with adorable highland cows. Fortunately, they found the perfect venue in the southern highlands - Mali Brae. Their beautiful day became a dream that surpassed all of their expectations. With the help of their trusted team of vendors, they orchestrated a celebration filled with heartwarming nods to their love story, soulful live music, delicious comfort food, and memorable moments with their favourite people.

The ceremony was a storybook moment as the couple exchanged their vows outside the Cherry Tree Walk, with two colourful floral pillars framing a stunning backdrop of the property, enveloped by open fields. The magic continued at the reception, where vibrant florals and styling blended seamlessly with the rustic elegance of the venue.

From the very beginning, John and Rebecca were determined to celebrate their day keeping with tradition. The couple saw each other for the first time at the end of the aisle where Rebecca was given away by her father. The reception followed the portrait session and during the night they heard loving toasts, shared a sit-down meal and took to the dance floor after cutting their wedding cake.

Their weekend day reflected their unique personalities and special love story. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment spent with the newlyweds and felt so welcome in the presence of their beautiful families who offered such warm hospitality.

Congratulations John and Rebecca!

Alex and Lauren's Bendooley Wedding

Alex and Lauren’s Bendooley wedding felt like a dream come true. The gorgeous Southern Highlands venue provided an absolutely stunning setting for their special day. Imagine being surrounded by the tall pampas grass, open fields, with flowers overhead and everyone dressed in stylish attire. Lauren had a beautiful vision for the day which was perfectly executed by her team of talented vendors.

During their Stables ceremony, the aisle was lined with blooms which led them to the altar framed by rustic barn doors, creating a picturesque setting for their heartfelt vows. And the enchantment didn’t end as the festivities went on. Their lunch time reception was adorned with tables featuring stunning centerpieces and modern stationery. Completing the winter scene, the fire was lit, adding a touch of ambience to the air.

More than anything, what made their day truly special was being surrounded by their loved ones who were so happy to celebrate the special occasion. Congratulations Alex and Lauren on your marriage!

Demi's Maternity Session

It was so nice to catch up with Sam and Demi earlier this month and capture some maternity photos! These guys are expecting their first little girl soon and wanted to document the special time in their lives. Of course we included their pet Banjo in the shoot and he was so fun and playful. Congratulations Demi on your pregnancy and all the best with the birth!

Stewart and Nicolette's Homestead Wedding

Stewart and Nicolette’s Berry wedding had all the elements needed for a truly timeless celebration. From the awe-inspiring homestead venue to the stunning floral arrangements, this dreamy event had everything they could ever hope for and more.

Stewart and Nicolette tied the knot on the verandah of the Homestead overlooking the gorgeous gardens and rural outlook. The ceremony space was adorned with breathtaking florals, creating an enchanting atmosphere for their vow exchange. The celebrations seamlessly continued onto the lawn where guests were treated to cocktail hour while the newlyweds had their portraits taken onsite.

The Cow Shed was transformed into a beautiful space for their reception. The banquet tables were decorated with florals and candles and the room was illuminated with festoon lighting around the courtyard. The night finished with Stewart and Nicolette cutting their cake and hitting the dance floor after a round of heartfelt speeches.

Hazzy's Proposal to Dana in Kangaroo Valley

The time had come for Hazzy to pop the question to his partner Dana, so he planned a special trip to beautiful Kangaroo Valley. Hazzy had organised for me to arrive first to Wildwood where he had a gorgeous set up ready for Dana. I waited with my camera for the moment he got down on one knee with the ring before making myself known. Dana had a feeling that this may be the weekend for a proposal but she was still so surprised when the moment came. Without hesitation Dana said yes and the two are now happily engaged, congratulations guys!

Blenheim Beach with the Burton Family

Winter mornings are a great time to capture families on the south coast beaches as there isn’t a person in sight and we have the whole place to ourselves. I really enjoyed my recent session with the Burton family and it was so nice to have the grandparents there too. We met up at Blenheim Beach right after the rain stopped and it was perfect, here are the highlights.

Tom and Mikhaila's Shoalhaven Heads Wedding

Mikhaila and Tom had initially planned to have their wedding in the Shoalhaven Heads Botanical Gardens, as it is a beautiful space with lots of gorgeous native plants. However, everything changed when they realised the south coast was expecting a lot of rain on their wedding weekend. The couple quickly found a local alternative venue to tie the knot.

Mikhaila and Tom said “I do” at the Sholhaven Heads Community Hall, where they also exchanged rings, made heartfelt promises and shared a first kiss. As the rain began to clear they joined the bridal party for some portraits in Apex Park before heading off to the famous Berry Donut Van and then onto Gerringong.

The pair were determined to have a relaxed evening celebrating their marriage so they re-joined their friends and family at Gather for some delicious food and cocktails.

Considering the horrible forecast these two embraced the rain and enjoyed the day with smiles on their faces the whole time. Congratulations Tom and Mim and thank you for sharing the celebration with me!

Lachlan and Emma's Woods Farm Wedding

Lachlan and Emma dreamt of hosting a wedding on the south coast that was truly one-of-a-kind. Pulling inspiration from the magical world of The Woods Farm, their wedding was far from ordinary. It was all about creating a fun environment for their guests to celebrate.

Picture this: tying the knot on a private farm property in the heart of Jervis Bay. Lachlan and Emma said “I do” in a rustic bush chapel surrounded by towering trees and beautiful farmland. With floor to ceiling chandeliers and beautiful florals their ceremony was a fairytale come to life. After the pair exchanged heartfelt vows, they made their way back down the aisle where they shared a kiss, creating a very romantic exit.

The reception was equally magical, set in the wedding hall which was decorated beautifully to tie into the colour palette of the day. Their outdoor first dance made the night truly unforgettable.

Lachlan and Emma’s wedding was filled with so much love it was an honour to be part of it.

Brad and Bronte's Homestead Wedding

Brad and Bronte’s Homestead wedding felt like stepping into a real-life fairytale. The Federation Queen Anne-style farmhouse venue provided an absolutely stunning setting for their special day.

Imagine saying “I do” at a former dairy farm located at the entrance to the charming rural township of Berry in the NSW South Coast’s Shoalhaven region. No detail was overlooked with beautiful flowers everywhere and guests dressed to the nines.

During their courtyard ceremony, the newlyweds were surrounded by lots of greenery on the silo and they were framed by a lush floral arch which created a feast for the eyes as they exchanged their heartfelt vows.

The rain did not dampen their day, instead they embraced the weather with some umbrellas and set off for portraits around the property. The celebrations continued long into the night with a sit down reception in the charming Cow Shed. The room was adorned with tables featuring stunning centrepieces and ambient lighting. Completing the scene, sparkling chandeliers hung overhead, adding a touch of magic to the night.

Their day was made special by all the friends and family who were there to celebrant such an important day in the couples lives. Congratulations Brad and Bronte!

Matt and Ashleen's Engagement Shoot

When it comes to outdoor photo locations around the South Coast, Bombo Quarry is certainly up there with some of the most epic. With beautiful cliff faces that meet the shore and long pampas grass it offers so many options for our couples to explore. The winter months are great for an engagement session because the cool air gives our couples the perfect excuse to rug up in layers and get cosy. Matt and Ash wanted to get comfortable in front of the camera ahead of their Terara Riverside wedding so they met up with Kyle for some gorgeous portraits, here are the highlights.

Sam and Jennifer's Proposal at Merribee Gardens

I was so honoured to be asked to be part of Sam’s surprise proposal to Jennifer. Sam had organised Jennifer to visit the South Coast for a live illustration booking. Jennifer arrived at Merribee Gardens ready to work and to her surprise she discovered Sam was there with the ultimate gesture - a romantic marriage proposal. I had my camera ready as he got down on one knee and pulled out her beautiful ring, Jennifer said yes and jumped into his arms. It was such a special moment to document.

Congratulations Sam and Jennifer on your engagement and thank you for sharing such a special moment with me.

Ollie and Brooke's Milton Wedding

Ollie and Brooke’s Airlie House wedding was a uniquely vibrant celebration that we are so lucky to have had the pleasure to be part of. Brooke is a dear friend of ours so it meant so much to not only celebrate the marriage but also document the day.

Ollie and Brooke wanted to create a beautiful explosion of colour for their wedding, so the couple worked tirelessly to create so much of the signage and decor to execute the vision. They created a fun and relaxed day for their loved ones to enjoy.

Their wedding was held in beautiful Milton and the two tied the knot overlooking the gorgeous farmland which surrounds the venue. The bridesmaids wore bright coloured gowns which matched their beautiful bouquets while the groomsmen wore a more traditional fit, letting the ladies really steal the show.

One of the highlights of the wedding was the venue itself, Airlie House —a restored Victorian Homestead that sits upon the crest of a hill overlooking the town of Milton. The breathtaking house, the wrap around verandah, and gorgeous courtyard provided the perfect backdrop for the couple’s sweet celebration.

Ollie and Brooke’s wedding celebration rolled seamlessly into the night where everyone enjoyed live music, delicious pizza and heartfelt speeches.

Congratulations Ollie an Brooke, what an incredible day!

Berry Blow Bar

Today I am sharing the highlights from a recent branding session with Berry Blow Bar. The session included a mix of stylist headshots, product images and some general lifestyle shots. I also spent some time photographing both the inside and outside of the salon which is conveniently located on Queen Street in Berry. As a wedding photographer I work alongside the talented ladies at Berry Blow Bar often as they glam up their brides.
